Botox®
Botox® is used for the temporary removal of facial
wrinkles caused by overactive muscles of expression.
Some of us show more expressions on our faces, and these
expressive movements cause unwanted lines on our faces.
The lines can make us seem angry when we are not and the
lines make our faces appear older than what we really
are.
The repetition of these expressive movements can
cause deep folds over time. Botox® is effective in the
treatment of the frown lines between the eyes, laughter
lines or crow's feet around the eyes, forehead lines and
others. Botox® helps to restore a more youthful
appearance to the face by smoothing out these lines.
Botox® treatment entails a painless procedure of
injecting a small amount of purified protein into the
targeted muscle. The procedure takes only a few minutes
with excellent results visible within days.
SCIENCE BEHIND THE TREATMENT
Botox® relaxes targeted muscles by preventing the
nerve to the muscle sending messages of contraction to
the muscles. Without the message for contraction the
skin above the targeted muscle smooths out and the
overlying lines on the skin, returning a younger look.
The surrounding muscles are not affected and contract in
the normal way. Botox® treatment is thus a safe and
affordable cosmetic alternative to surgery for combating

EFFECTIVENESS OF THE TREATMENT
Effects from the treatment can last from 3-4 months
(and sometimes longer), but varies according to a
person's skin type, age, exposure to pollutants, and
other factors. Intervals
between treatments become longer after subsequent
treatments. There is no risk of wrinkles worsening when
a person stops the treatment. The lines will gradually
revert to pre-treatment levels and in some cases less
than pre-treatment levels.
HOW LONG DOES TREATMENT
TAKE?
The entire Botox® treatment takes less
than 15 minutes and is performed by a specially trained
practitioner. It is a relatively painless procedure that
requires no anesthesia. You can resume your daily
activities directly afterwards.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS?
Botox® injections are reasonably safe,
but mild side effects may occur in a small percentage of
patients:

Redness that will disappear after less than 30
minutes.

Temporary facial paralysis or drooping eyes have
been reported in a few cases.
HOW OFTEN IS THE TREATMENT
REPEATED?
The Botox® injections relax the targeted
muscles for 3-4 months where after the muscles gradually
regain their functionality. To maintain the smoothing
effect, you need to repeat the treatments as the effects
wear off, on average every three to four months. The
long term effect of repeated treatments is that wrinkles
will gradually take longer before they return as the
targeted muscles are relaxed most of the time.
WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
The cost of Botox® cosmetic treatment
varies depending on the areas being targeted. The number
of injections required depends on the level of wrinkling
and the area of treatment. We will let you know what
your treatments will cost (based on what you’d like to
achieve) before starting the treatments.
Radiesse®
is a soft tissue filler that is used to help restore a
balance in facial contours and to rejuvenate the face
for a healthier and younger appearance.
People who want to look younger and remove deep wrinkles
around the nose and mouth area as well as those wanting
more definition of the cheeks, jaw lines and chins.
People who have poorly developed chins and slack jaws as
well as those with sagging cheeks also benefit from the
treatment. Facial defects and scarring can also be
treated with Radiesse®
SCIENCE BEHIND THE TREATMENT
Radiesse® is a soft tissue filler comprised
of micro calicium spheres suspended in a gel like
substance. Not only is Radiesse® used for
facial contouring and non surgical Rhinoplasty but it is
highly effective in the elimination of naso labial skin
folds and other facial wrinkles. It is highly effective
in reducing skin scarring and facial deformities caused
by trauma and a number of clinical conditions such as
acne.
The calcium based micro-spheres act to stimulate the
production of collagen, which is needed to keep the skin
firm and younger looking. It is a temporary filling and
extremely safe.
EFFECTIVENESS OF THE TREATMENTS
Excellent results can be seen immediately after
treatment. The effects normally last between 15 and 18
months making it a cost effective method for facial
augmentation as well as for the removal of facial lines
and deformities.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Apart from mild reactions at the injected areas ranging
from light swelling, redness, and irritation of the
skin, there are no other side effects except in rare
cases of allergic reactions. The side-effects resolve
within a few hours to three days. Since the tissue
filler is injected while a local anesthetic is used to
dull any pain sensations, it requires little recovery
time, so that you can return to normal work activities
almost immediately after treatment.
HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?
The treatment takes 30 minutes to an hour depending on
the area of treatment.
HOW OFTEN IS THE TREATMENT REPEATED?
Since the effects are long lasting, the treatment need
only be repeated after twelve months, although
occasional touch ups may be needed.

Juvederm®
As we grow older, the natural
Hyaluronic acid (H/A) levels become depleted and lines
start to form around our mouths and eyes. This can also
cause frown and other lines of expression to become more

hyaluronic acid, Juvederm®.
SCIENCE BEHIND THE TREATMENT
Tissue fillers are effective for filling the skin
and to provide facial skin augmentation. This highly
effective and safe procedure helps to soften the lines
caused by depleted H/A levels underneath the skin.
WHAT ARE THE OUTCOMES?
Results vary according to the area treated, but
significant reduction in facial lines and increase in
facial volume can be seen within two to three days.
Since it is not a permanent solution a top up treatment
once to twice a year is recommended.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Juvederm is a safe and practically painless
procedure with only the slightest discomfort which can
be minimized through a local anesthetic application.
Swelling, tenderness and redness around the treated
areas may occur directly after treatment and may last a
few days. Allergic reactions to tissue fillers are
extremely rare.

Depending on the areas treated, the procedure can
take anything from 20 minutes to an hour.
HOW OFTEN IS THE TREATMENT REPEATED?
Juvederm treatments last approximately 9-12 months,
depending on the client’s metabolism. Treatments on the
different areas of the face must be repeated once a
year.
WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
The costs vary according to areas to be treated and to
what extent.
